REFLECTIONS BODY IMAGE CENTER

About BDD

This project is particularly created as a body image center in care for those suffering from Bodily Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), a chronic illness where a person envisions their own physical appearance as a form of "imagined ugliness"; an illusion they view that is not really there and others see them as perfectly normal. My choice of turning this focus into a final project was made to also cast awareness, as not many people are familiar, or has ever heard of the term "BDD" before at this time. I had interviewed advocates of this mental illness, learning about their past experience, and doctors who specializes in this particular issue to find out the best design solution without drawing any concerning harm during an enhanced lifestyle opportunity, in order to create an appropriate rehabilitation center catered to such patients in need.
