Sitting alongside the boardwalk of Venice Beach, the conceptual goal for this Venice Boutique Hotel was to transition between cool and warm atmospheres. Like boiling water or water wakes, where trapped air bubbles try rising from the water until breaking free, by succeeding this gesture of effervescence within the space came about in a similar manner for hotel consumers to arrive, relax, and further enjoy their getaway.

 

Based on the environment that this building rests on, the thought of transitioning between the two temperatures is to visually capture curved lines and color transitions between both interior floors. Naturally, the fact that heat rises to the top and the bottom level maintaining its cool had worked out in my favor to determine which floor best demonstrates the concept.
